Policies

Teaching Tennis: The policy of the DTC is that only our pro staff is allowed to teach lessons at the Tennis Center and the Outdoor Tennis Stadium. The only exception is an adult member wanting to work with his/her own child or spouse. If you are feeding balls to someone other than your spouse or child, we consider that teaching a lesson. This rule applies even if no money is being exchanged.

Attire: Tennis attire, including a shirt and tennis shoes, must be worn on the courts at all times. The following attire is not permitted: street clothes, street shoes, black-soled shoes, cut-offs, and swimwear.

Locker Rooms: Members and guests may use the temporary lockers without charge. DTC recommends that members bring their own locks; the Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Members must remove their locks when leaving DTC. Club members who play at the outdoor tennis stadium may use the showers if the club is open, but guests may not as they do not have member privileges.

Children: All children are the responsibility of the accompanying adult. To minimize distractions for all players, child spectators are not permitted in the court areas. Children may not be left unsupervised. Children should not be playing in the lobby on the court behind the curtains as this is distracting for the players on the court.

Guests: Are allowed to play with or without a member. All guests must register at the front desk when entering the Tennis Center. Guests may use all facilities during their visit, but only in accordance with the Tennis Center rules. Guests may use the Tennis Center a maximum of three times per year. (Sept-Aug).

Guest Fees: A $5 guest fee is charged for all non-members who use court time at the Tennis Center. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests register and pay the appropriate fee. Guest fees may be credited towards the purchase of a Tennis Center membership.

Cancellations of Programs & Refunds: All cancellations from a tennis program must be made at least one week before the start of the first class. The DTC will issue refunds ONLY in the case of a doctor’s recommendation or due to moving out of the area. Refunds will not be given due to scheduling conflicts.

Cancellations of Private Lessons: Cancellations or no-shows of private lessons or private groups within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be charged at the full rate. Sickness cancellations must be made within 6 hours of the private lesson time or will be charged the full rate.

Cancellations of Reserved Court Time: Cancellations of reserved court time must happen  before 24 hours of the scheduled time or they will be charged at the full rate. No-shows for reserved courts will be charged in full. You may not book an indoor court as “back up” in case it rains and then cancel within 24 hours to play outside.

Payments & Pro-Rating: All junior participants must make full payment when they register for classes. No pro-rating will be given for missed classes. Prorated fees will only be given to players that are enrolling in a class after the start date, assuming there are still openings in that class.

Payments for ADULT programs: Most of our adult programs allow you to register, but not pay until the day of the program. However, if you register and do not show up or cancel your registration, you will be charged the full amount for the program. If you do not register and just show up, you run the risk of the class being full and not being able to participate.

Make-Ups: The Tennis center does not offer make-up options for missed classes. Make-ups are not guaranteed. Make-ups will only be possible if your class meets on another day and is not full. All make-ups must be pre-approved by your instructor and occur during the same session. Make-ups are nearly impossible in the Jan-Mar session. Please check your schedule carefully before registering.
